Tamariki will have the chance to explore the outdoors with experienced instructors from Whenua Iti Outdoors, to build confidence and connect to nature while having fun at different wilderness locations.
This programme is made possible thanks to funding from Buller District Council and the Ministry of Youth Development. The activities on Kawatiri Adventurers may include caving, rock climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, bush survival skills & navigation. Activities are subject to change and weather conditions. This is a great opportunity for tamariki to connect to the natural world, give new activities a go and make new friends in a safe and supportive environment.
Whilst being immersed in nature our young adventurers will explore how they can not only restore nature, but also be restored by nature.
After 2 days of exploring and adventuring tamariki will leave with their minds connected to nature, with happy hearts, new friendships and tired edges. Check out our latest adventures on Facebook and Instagram.

It was a course I would love to see more children be a part of. It was free which was incredible. After a hard year of floods and being displaced it was such a treat. It also installed confidence in my son and challenged him out of his comfort zone. It would be great for Whenua iti to have more of a presence in Westport doing this activity to strengthen our youth using the outdoors
