Our Facilities
At Whenua Iti Outdoors we have 7.5 hectares of beautiful landscaped grounds in Lower Moutere (5 mins drive from Motueka), with mature native trees and plenty of grassed areas perfect for camping or outdoors-based activities!
We are ideally located to have 3 national parks within easy access – Kahurangi, Abel Tasman & Nelson Lakes – providing the perfect playground for our programmes.
Our Site
Our site or home base in Lower Moutere is where we run many of our day programmes and the starting point for multi-day programmes. It is available for meetings, community events and can be hired privately for groups – we’ve even had weddings here!
Administration Building
This is the first building you see when you arrive, housing our office staff and our tutors when they are not out in the field.

Meeting Hall
Used as a classroom or meeting room, the hall is a lovely wooden building with adjoining kitchen which opens onto a covered deck and the grounds. Suitable for up to 50 people.
Adventure Elements
We have a 13m high abseiling tower, a high and low ropes course, an orienteering course, an obstacle course to challenge you and large outdoor spaces for games and camping.
Parking
There are short term visitor parks in front of our office building, and plenty of parking as you continue down the drive. Follow your nose (or the signs!) and drive slowly please.
Kitchen & Ablutions
Adjoining the meeting hall, the kitchen has ample workspace, ovens, a fridge and two sinks. Just outside the back of the kitchen there are three toilets and two showers available.
Board Room
This room adjoins the meeting hall and can be used as a break-out room or booked for meetings of up to 15 people.
Available for Private Hire
We welcome private bookings and use of our site (when available) by the general public. The grounds, including the hall, kitchen, ablutions and meeting room are all available to hire. Overnight use is also possible by private groups. Please enquire by filling out our Booking Enquiry Form
Chiller Trailer for Hire
We have a small chiller trailer that is available to groups who book with us and for our local community to hire. It is available for $100+GST per day. Please email us to make a booking.
