Holiday Programmes

The same experienced staff who deliver our core education programmes run our holiday programmes. They are about exploring, learning outdoor skills, having fun as well as for students to become aware of their true strengths and potential.

Students will discover remote places of wilderness in the Nelson/Tasman region through a range of adventurous activities. View programme options on the West Coast.


Thanks to funding from Trades Academies we have free places on these programmes for local secondary students!*

This is an amazing chance to get outdoors, learn some new skills and earn NCEA credits at the same time.

There are limited places so be sure to enrol soon via the programme page on our website or with your Trades Coordinator at School.

Kaitiaki Leadership

Develop a deeper understanding of conservation and the skills needed for active biodiversity management. Head out on overnight expeditions, learn about conservation & biodiversity management and contribute to local conservation projects. You will come away with a deeper connection and understanding of te taio (the environment).

Ages: 16 - 18 yrs
Duration: 8 nights / 9 days
Earn 13 NCEA Level 3 credits

Adventure Skills Development

Develop outdoor adventure skills while experiencing a variety of activities on group outdoor expeditions, with the added opportunity of completing 15 Level 3 NCEA credits. You will build trust, confidence and teamwork through a variety of awesome challenges!

Go Wild (in Nature!)

This a great programme for younger children to experience a safe yet fun series of adventures with fully qualified and experienced outdoor instructors. The programme involves 5 days of action fun and outdoor exploration.

Kaitiaki Kids

The Kaitiaki Kids programme is designed as a stepping stone for intermediate-aged adventurers towards our journey programmes and includes a single overnight adventure as part of a week of outdoors-based nature activities.

Junior Journey

The Junior Journey is designed to be fun while exploring the outdoors and developing new skills. Tamariki will come away from the programme being more confident, more aware of their true strengths & potential and with a new whānau of friends!

The Senior Journey adventure holiday programme allows tamariki to step up into an expedition format and build their resilience and teamwork skills while exploring spectacular local environments and building lasting friendships.

Aotearoa Adventure

Experience stunning wilderness locations and local national parks while taking part in adventurous experiences that are not only fun but also challenging and rewarding. Leave with a deeper appreciation of the natural world and a group of new friends!

Aotearoa Orientation

Experience and learn about Aotearoa, New Zealand through this  cultural orientation program designed to provide students with an authentic insight into Te Ao Māori and the connection between indigenous people of Aotearoa to Te Taiao (the environment).

We are NZQA accredited, can offer NCEA Level 1-3 assessments and all programmes align with the NZ Curriculum key competencies.

We put safety first. We are a registered provider of Adventure Activities with Worksafe NZ, and are Safety audit certified with OutdoorsMark.
