Adventure Leadership (L2)

Build on a love of the outdoors by learning technical and practical outdoor skills in a team environment.

*Thanks to funding from Top of the South & West Coast Trades Academies this course is being offered free in the October Holidays & in December to local secondary students in response to lockdown. Enrol via this page or via your school’s Trades Coordinator. Limited places available.

Participants have the opportunity of completing 9- 11 Level 2 NCEA credits on this programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make the most of your school holidays on an Adventure Leadership programme with Whenua Iti! You will come away with a base of technical and practical skills for future independence on outdoors adventures. The programme will focus on two of the following outdoor disciplines: sea kayaking, mountain biking, rock climbing, caving or bush skills.  Selection of activities is dependent on the time of year and weather considerations. Students will have a great experience meeting new people and exploring the beautiful outdoor environments of Te Tau Ihu.

This course curriculum is equivalent to 50% of the Whenua Iti Outdoors Trades Academy programme – Adventure Skills Development Level 2.

*Programmes will be offered at Level 2 (under current guidelines). If levels change to Level 3 or 4 at time of programme start a full refund will be given to fee paying students
