Build confidence in your leadership skills with Whenua Iti Outdoors.
This course is aimed at senior students who have the potential to take up school or community leadership positions for their final year of school and in future endeavours. It is an opportunity for keen students to develop and improve confidence in their leadership skills and competencies. Students will learn about themselves, how to work in a team and how to use passion to fuel effective action.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW:
The course uses experiential learning activities as a platform for students to learn about themselves and develop their growth mindset and personal leadership style. Students will explore how to work with a diverse range of people in order to establish a strong team and to understand that leadership is not the task of one. The course will also focus on how to turn passion into action and service, as well as how to move your intentions forward.
STUDENT SELECTION CRITERIA
• Year 12 students based in the Nelson/Tasman region
• Students who may need a boost in confidence or motivation to take on a leadership position.
