A leadership programme to instil positive personal development skills
This programme is an opportunity for students to improve their skill set to enable them to seize opportunities, grow in confidence and be motivated towards making the most of their time at Motueka High School.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW:
This programme has been designed for Motueka High School students, with the support of a generous local funder and Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO), to help our boys ‘step up’ and realise their full potential.
The Ignite Programme is offered over a 3 year period (Year 9, 10 and 11) and aims to provide students with stimulus for positive change and personal development over a 3-year period, using adventure-based learning as the catalyst for that change. Participants will complete journeys each year, including overnights, in wilderness locations accessible from the Motueka region, with support from school to both prepare for and reflect on their experience.
“Ignite has greatly helped boost my confidence and leadership skills. It’s helped me become the person I want to be” – Ignite Student
STUDENT SELECTION CRITERIA
• Year 9 male students attending Motueka High School
• Students who are yet to realise their potential
