Have fun getting into nature with Whenua Iti Outdoors!
This programme is an opportunity for students to gain the skills and competencies needed to seize opportunities, grow in confidence and self-belief, and be motivated towards making the most of their time at Motueka High School.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW:
This programme has been designed for Motueka High School students, with the support of a generous local funder and Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO), to engage kōhine (young teenage women) to ‘step up’ and realise their full potential.
The Activate programme is offered across a 3 year period (Year 9, 10 & 11) and aims to provide students with stimulus for positive change and personal development, using adventure-based learning as the catalyst for that change.
Participants will complete journeys each year, including overnights, in wilderness locations accessible from the Motueka region, with support from school to both prepare for and reflect on their experiences.
STUDENT SELECTION CRITERIA
• Year 9 female students attending Motueka High School
• A student yet to realise their potential
• We are looking for girls who currently may not be putting themselves forward for opportunities that they are capable of, girls with the potential to step up if given the right opportunity to push themselves.
