Introducing Go Wild at Home

Since you can’t come to Whenua Iti right now, we’ve decided to come to you! We will be posting a new challenge for each day of the Go Wild Programme right here from 20th – 24th April. You can do just one challenge, or have a go at completing all of them.

With lots of computer based online learning and time inside, it’s great to take a moment to be active. Each challenge takes between 30 mins to an hour each. Learn a new skill, have fun, be active and Go Wild!

Who can do the challenges?

The challenges have been designed for 7-10 year olds, but anyone can have a go – even Mum or Dad!

What will you need?

All of the challenges can be done at home and you won’t need any special equipment. Things that you will need are your bike, helmet and closed shoes for the bike skills challenge and a camera for taking some photos.

What are the challenges?

The challenges will be bike skills, map skills, photo competition, fitness training and rope/knot skills. One of the challenges will also have a prize up for grabs.

How do I receive a Go Wild Certificate?

If you complete all 5 challenges by Friday the 1st of May, you will receive a Go Wild certificate and a Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO) badge* for your efforts!

*Note: WIO badges available for the first 20 students who complete all 5 challenges.

You will need to register with us by emailing [email protected].

We would love to see some evidence of your completed challenges – when you have completed all the challenges, send us your photos, videos or ask Mum or Dad to write us an email and let us know you completed them all. Registrations close on 25th of April 2020

You can also post them on our Facebook Event Page or tag us on Instagram: #gowildnz

If you only give one or two challenges ago that’s ka pai too!

Be creative & have fun!
We look forward to seeing your photos!
