Designed for younger adventurers, the Mini Environmental Adventure Programme builds on students environmental understanding by experiencing the natural world through exploration and play.
Students will look at living things and how they interact with each other and their environment by exploring the natural world around them. Learn about our native flora and fauna in an open & positive setting, where a journey of discovery is encouraged through a series of fun activities and games.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Recognise that living things are suited to their particular habitat
- Explore and ask questions to increase understanding of the natural world including kaitiakitanga of New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna
- Increase willingness to learn
- Develop a positive attitude
Please note: The order and type of activities may change due to weather or other safety reasons. Our educator team will communicate any changes with the teacher in charge.
“My 6 yr old came back from his day at Whenua Iti full of excitement. Normally it’s hard to get out of him what happened in class for the day, but not in this case! He could tell me about all the different activities they did and what they had to do. He loved it.” – Parent
