Are you a local youth looking for meaningful work?
The Motueka Vocational Pathways (MVP) project has been established in recognition of the challenges of transitioning into the workforce that face a number of young people once they leave school. The Vision Motueka group have challenged Motueka to become a more youth friendly town and MVP is one strategy to achieve this goal. We have a limited number of 7 funded places available on this four week course.
What will the Programme be Like?
The programme itself will include a mix of learning and activities designed to strengthen employability skills (as defined by the employability skills framework) and then a graduated transition into the nominated workplace. The course will include activities to develop your employability skills, an overnight expedition and a local work experience opportunity to hone your new skills. Whenua Iti Outdoors will work with local employers from the outset to establish which local employers will be willing to take on a graduate of the MVP project for the summer season (and hopefully longer).
If this sounds like something that interests you, please get in touch.
Are you a business in Motueka that can offer work placements?
We are seeking local, community-minded businesses from the Motueka area who are able to provide work placements in November, preferably with future work opportunities for graduates of the programme.
Our goal is for students to devleop their skills through the experience of different working environments across our region. Whenua Iti Outdoors will work closely with you from the outset to establish the best pathways to employment for a graduate of the MVP project for the summer season (and hopefully longer).
If this sounds like something your business can support, please get in touch to register your interest with us by mid- October.
