Connecting young people with nature through education

Whenua Iti Outdoors would like to invite you to a free seminar and networking event which will explore ways you can help tamariki and rangatahi connect with nature.

You will hear from Steve Porteous of Human Outdoor Living and Bushcraft. Steve runs bushcraft and nature connection workshops for all ages from his home in Ōtaki Gorge.

At the session you will explore simple ways you can connect young people to nature in order to develop habits for a lifetime. This will improve mental health, focus and resilience, and ultimately creates better learners who are well equipped for the future, and who actively care for the world around them.

You will also have a chance to connect with other like-minded teachers, educators and members of the community.

Please register to attend by Tues 27th July.
