School Holiday Programmes
Whenua Iti School Holiday Programmes are full of action-packed outdoor adventure! Students will discover remote places of wilderness in the Nelson/Tasman region by tramping, mountain biking, sea or river kayaking and camping - activities vary by season.
Our school holiday programmes are about having fun, exploring, and learning outdoor skills as well as for students to become aware of their true strengths and potential.
The adventures will require students to work in a team and to face challenges together building essential leadership qualities. The outcome is a great sense of achievement, increased confidence and a memorable experience that will be shared with new friends.
*Please note our school holiday programmes need a minimum of 8 participants to run.

Adventure Skills Development
For ages 16-18 years old
- 9 days and 8 nights of awesome adventures .
- We provide all transport, activities, outdoor gear and qualified instructors.
- An optional 15 NCEA Level 3 credits
- Locations may be either in the Abel Tasman or Kahurangi National Parks.
- Cost: $1600 per person

Senior Journey
For ages 14-16 years old
- 5 day and 4 nights of packed adventure and personal challenge.
- We provide all transport, activities, outdoor gear and qualified instructors.
- Journey locations are dependent on seasons and weather. They may be either in the Abel Tasman or Kahurangi National Parks.
- Cost: $350 per person
Senior Journey 2019 Dates*:
Monday 16th - Friday 20th December
Senior Journey 2020 Dates*:
Monday 20th - Friday 24th January (Waitlist only)
Junior Journey
For ages 11-13 years old
- 4 day and 3 nights of independent challenge and growth.
- We provide all transport, activities, outdoor gear and qualified instructors.
- The activities and location vary and we try to make each Junior Journey of the year unique and distinct from the others.
- Cost: $300 per person
Junior Journey 2020 Dates*:
Monday 13th - Thursday 16th January (Waitlist only)
Monday 20th - Thursday 23rd January (Waitlist only)
Monday 27th - Thursday 30th January (Waitlist only)
Go Wild
For ages 7-10 years old
- 5 days of action fun and outdoor exploration with students returning home each afternoon (9am-3pm - with some scope for pick ups and drop offs).
- Introduction to Bush Skills, Navigation, Survival Skills and Outdoor Challenges.
- Cost: $300 per person (Participants need to be able to attend the whole week).
