Working with Us

Whenua Iti Outdoors Team

Whenua Iti Outdoors prides itself on providing a fantastic workplace environment.  We have an excellent team in place, a supportive and family focussed culture that recognises the importance of all of us maintaining a healthy work/life balance.  We work hard, we work long hours and we often work in challenging environments.  The rewards, however make it all worthwhile.

Our team of instructors are highly skilled across a range of technical disciplines as well as being excellent education facilitators.

The breadth of work is huge – one day may be with a group of 55 year old corporate executives, the next with 5 year old primary school children and the next with an international group of visitors.  The variety provides for engaging work opportunities, for a real richness in our work and also requires an extremely high level of flexibility, adaptability and creativity.

If you are interested in joining the team

As a general rule you will need to:

  • have a Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) certificate
  • be prepared to complete a NZ Police Vetting Request
  • have a Passenger Licence
  • have a NZ recognised qualifications across at least 3 of the following disciplines – sea kayak, rock climbing, bush, caving, river kayak.  Experience of mountain biking and recognised mountain bike training is also advantageous.

Please contact us if you are interested in work at Whenua Iti Outdoors.
